Bronx, NY (My Sportsbook) - The Toronto Blue Jays have placed pitcher Doug Creek on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained left elbow. The move is retroactive to May 17. Creek has not pitched since May 16. The situational lefthander has no record with a 3.29 earned run average in 21 appearances this season. He has allowed 14 hits and 12 walks in just 13 2/3 innings. The Blue Jays signed Creek this past off-season. He pitched for Seattle and Tampa Bay in 2002, posting a record of 3-2 with a 5.82 ERA in 52 games. Toronto filled the roster spot by purchasing the contract of pitcher Josh Towers from Triple-A Syracuse. The righthander was 2-4 with a 3.29 ERA in nine starts for the SkyChiefs.
