=== Atlanta Braves Team Report - May 25 === (My Sportsbook) - Greg Maddux hopes to break out his slump on Sunday when the Atlanta Braves battle the New York Mets in the rubber match of their three- game set at Turner Field. Maddux is still searching for his first win since April 29 against Houston. The righthander has dropped his last two decisions to fall to just 3-5 on the year. In his last outing, Maddux failed to earn a decision against Cincinnati Tuesday. He was hammered for seven runs on nine hits in four innings, while walking one and striking out seven. Maddux has had success versus the Mets in his career, as his 29 victories over New York are the most he has against one team. He owns an ERA of 3.40 ERA in 53 lifetime starts against the Mets. On Saturday, Tom Glavine made his first start in an opponents' uniform at Turner Field after spending 16 years with the Braves. However, Glavine's outing lasted only 3 1/3 innings and 68 pitches, as Atlanta routed New York, 10-4. Gary Sheffield finished 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBI for the NL East- leading Braves. Andruw Jones, Javy Lopez and Robert Fick also homered for Atlanta, which evened the weekend series at a game apiece and won for the sixth time in nine games. Rafael Furcal doubled twice with a pair of RBI and scored two times before taking the rest of the day off after the Braves scored seven runs in the fourth inning. Braves starter Horacio Ramirez (4-2) threw seven innings for the win. The lefthander was charged with two runs on four hits with four strikeouts and two walks.
