=== Detroit Tigers Team Report - May 25 === (My Sportsbook) - Gary Knotts and Franklyn German combined on a three-hit shutout, leading the Detroit Tigers to a 1-0 victory over the Chicago White Sox in the second of a three-game set at U.S. Cellular Field yesterday. Knotts (2-3) threw 7 2/3 scoreless innings, surrendering just two hits. He struck out six and walked two before handing the ball over to German, who closed out the game with two scoreless innings for his first save of the season. It was the second well-pitched game by the Tigers in the series. Detroit won the opener, 3-2. Brandon Inge smacked a leadoff triple and scored on a sacrifice fly in the decisive third inning for the Tigers, who won their third straight game. Despite the three consecutive road victories for Detroit, it is still 9-18 away from home this season. The Tigers are an even worse (3-17) when playing in Detroit this year. Adam Bernero gets the call for the Tigers today, still in search of his first win of the season. Although Bernero received a no-decision in his most recent outing, he pitched well and allowed just three earned runs in six innings of work while striking out five. Bernero (0-6) is making just the fifth start of his career against the White Sox. In his previous outings against them, he has a record of 1-3 and an ERA of 5.65.
