Hermanson was saddled with the loss and his fifth blown save. Jim Edmonds and Scott Rolen both hit three-run homers for the Cardinals, who ended their six-game road trip at 3-3. Eduardo Perez registered two hits and two runs scored in the losing effort. Woody Williams takes the hill for the Cardinals today, as they open a four- game set with the Houston Astros. Williams is a perfect 6-0 with a 2.25 ERA in nine starts this season. In his last outing on Wednesday, Williams threw seven strong innings, allowing just two earned runs on five hits of a 7-4 victory over the Astros. He struck out six and walked two in picking up the win. Williams is 7-2 with a 2.47 ERA in 12 career starts against Houston. Sunday's starter Garrett Stephenson surrendered four runs -- two earned -- on six hits in five innings. Edmonds has now homered in three straight games.
