Randall Simon finished with three hits, a run scored and an RBI for Pittsburgh, which halted its three-game skid. Kenny Lofton scored twice in the victory and extended his hitting streak to 23 games Brian Boehringer (2-1) picked up the win for the Pirates after he threw a scoreless seventh inning. Mike Williams allowed a run on two hits in the ninth, but held on to notch his 14th save of the campaign. Josh Fogg takes the hill for the Pirates today, as they begin a three-game set against the Chicago Cubs. Fogg is 1-2 with a 4.35 ERA in four starts this season. In his last outing on April 20th, Fogg lasted just one inning, allowing two runs on three hits in an 8-2 victory over the Chicago Cubs. He left the game after injuring his abdominal and was then put on the 15-day DL. Fogg is 2-2 with a 4.15 ERA in five career starts against the Cubs. Brian Meadows got the starting nod for Pittsburgh earlier in the day on Sunday after manager Lloyd McClendon opted not to recall Ryan Vogelsong from Triple-A Nashville. Meadows was charged with six runs on eight hits in five innings.
