=== Montreal Expos Team Report - May 26 === (My Sportsbook) - Brian Schneider slammed a pinch-hit three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh to lift the Montreal Expos to a 5-3 win over the Philadelphia Phillies in the finale of a three-game set at Olympic Stadium. Javier Vazquez (5-2) hurled seven innings for the win. He allowed two runs on five hits, fanned eight and walked one. Rocky Biddle pitched a scoreless ninth to earn his 14th save of the season. Jose Vidro was 2-for-3 with a solo homer and two runs scored for Montreal. Claudio Vargas takes the hill for the Expos today, as they open a four-game set against the Florida Marlins. Vargas is 2-1 with a 3.18 ERA in six appearances this season. In his last outing on Wednesday, Vargas yielded just two runs on six hits in six and two-thirds innings of a 7-2 victory over the Marlins. He struck out three and walked one in picking up the win in his first career appearance against Florida. Vidro and Schneider both have five homers on the season. The Expos have won five of their last six. |
