=== New York Yankees Team Report - May 26 === (My Sportsbook) - The New York Yankees suffered a four-game sweep at the hands of the Toronto Blue Jays this week and it was capped by a 5-3 loss at Yankee Stadium yesterday. Jorge Posada, Derek Jeter and Alfonso Soriano hit solo homers for the Yankees, who have lost a season-high four straight games and seven in a row at home. The seven-game home skid is the longest for the Yankees since they dropped 10 in a row at Yankee Stadium from May 26 through June 29, 1986. The Yankees were last swept in a four-game series by the Chicago White Sox on June 15-18, 2000. New York, which was 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position and 0-for-18 with runners on base, has lost 11 of its last 12 at home. The Yankees left 12 on base, including at least one in every inning. New York starter Jeff Weaver (3-3) fell to 1-3 in his last six outings. He was charged with five runs -- four earned -- on six hits in five-plus innings. Weaver fell to 4-7 in 12 career starts against the Blue Jays Jeter's last homer came on September 27, 2002. He led off for the first time since August 4, 2002. Soriano, who had led off each of the first 49 games, batted third. Roger Clemens (6-2) will take to the hill today for New York and will try to become the 21st pitcher in major league history to reach the 300 win plateau. He will also be trying to improve on his impressive 7-2 record and 2.47 ERA against his former teammates. Clemens pitched six innings last week against the Red Sox and struck out seven in his most recent outing for the Yankees. The performance was solid enough to reward him with his 299th career victory and sixth of the season.
