Ashburn, VA (My Sportsbook) - Marcus Washington's 2006 season officially came to a close Saturday, as the Washington Redskins placed the linebacker on injured reserve with a knee injury suffered in last Sunday's victory over New Orleans. Running back Nehemiah Broughton took Washington's place on the 53-man roster, and head coach Joe Gibbs hinted that Jeff Posey will start at linebacker in St. Louis. The durable Washington has missed just one game since becoming a regular NFL starter in 2000, and started 48 consecutive games for the Redskins. The high-energy linebacker finishes the 2006 season with 106 tackles, 2.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and 11 passes defended.
