Cleveland, OH (My Sportsbook) - Cleveland Browns owner Al Lerner died Wednesday night. He was 69. Lerner was given the Browns' franchise in 1998 for $530 million, three years after Art Modell moved Cleveland's team to Baltimore. A team spokeswoman confirmed the death, but no other details were provided. He was the chairman and chief executive officer of MBNA Corporation, the largest independent bank lender through credit cards in the United States. Lerner was also chairman and CEO of Town and Country Trust. Additionally, Lerner was chairman of the NFL's finance committee, one of the most important and influential committees in the league. In 2001, President George W. Bush appointed Lerner to the President's Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board. Details to follow.
