Ottawa, Ontario (My Sportsbook) - The Ottawa Senators have picked up the contracts of head coach Jacques Martin and assistants Don Jackson, Roger Neilson and Perry Pearn for the 2003-04 season. Martin was named head coach of the team on January 24, 1996 and just completed his seventh full season at the helm. "This team has been very successful under the guidance of Jacques and his staff, and we are excited to have them all back for another season and another run at the Stanley Cup," said Senators general manager John Muckler. Ottawa won the 2002-2003 President's Trophy and advanced to the Eastern Conference finals before succumbing to the New Jersey Devils, 4-3, in the best-of-seven series. Martin is currently the second-longest tenured coach in the NHL to Carolina's Paul Maurice. Martin holds a 298-226-86 record with the Senators and has led the team to seven straight playoff appearances. Pearn will be returning for his eighth season with Ottawa, while Neilson will be heading into his fourth season and Jackson his third.
