=== New York Yankees Team Report - May 28 === (My Sportsbook) - Todd Zeile hit a two-run homer and Andy Pettitte pitched 7 2/3 solid innings as the New York Yankees finally won at home, posting an 11-3 victory over the Boston Red Sox in the middle contest of a three-game series at Yankee Stadium Tuesday. Derek Jeter and Robin Ventura each hit solo home runs for the Yankees, who snapped an eight-game home losing streak. Pettitte (5-5) gave up just two runs on five hits to stop a career-high personal four-game losing skid and record his first win since April 30 against Seattle. He struck out six and walked just one before leaving to a standing ovation. Antonio Osuna retired the only batter he faced and Mariano Rivera pitched the ninth to close out the game for the Yankees, who had lost their last five games. Taking the hill for the Yankees tonight is Mike Mussina, who is 7-3 with a 2.54 ERA in 10 starts this season. In his last outing on Friday, Mussina allowed four runs and seven hits over six innings of a 6-2 setback to the Toronto Blue Jays. He struck out six and walked two in taking his third consecutive loss. Mussina is 16-11 with a 3.09 ERA in 36 career starts against Boston. Outfielder Bernie Williams underwent surgery on his knee on Tuesday. The surgery was a success and he is expected to be sidelined four-to-six weeks.
