=== San Diego Padres Team Report - May 29 === (My Sportsbook) - The San Diego Padres snapped a three-game losing streak with their victory last night against the Milwaukee Brewers in the second-game of a three-game set at Qualcomm Stadium. The win victory was only the fifth for the struggling Padres in the month of May. Last night, Gary Bennett hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth to lead the Padres to the 8-6 victory. Bennett had a pair of big hits in the contest and Brian Buchanan ended 4-for-5 with a homer, three runs scored and four RBI for the Padres. Ramon Vazquez added three hits and scored twice for San Diego. Mike Matthews (2-3) pitched a perfect top of the ninth for the win. The Padres will send Brian Lawrence to the mound today at Qualcomm Stadium. The 27-year-old righthander was victorious in his last outing, pitching a complete game gem against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Bank One Ballpark on May 24th. In that contest, Lawrence allowed one run on only two hits and one walk. The victory was the first for Lawrence since he defeated the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field back on April 11th. Since that victory the righthander has lost five of seven outings. Lawrence has one career start against the Brewers in his career. In that lone start Lawrence did not record a decision, but posted a 3.68 ERA and compiled 10 strike outs. Rondell White has a eight-game hitting streak for the Padres. In those contests, White is 10-for-27 with one home run and four RBI.
