Cincinnati, OH (My Sportsbook) - The Cincinnati Reds placed infielder Ryan Freel on the 15-day disabled list Thursday. Freel is hampered with a torn left hamstring. In 16 games this season, Freel is batting .268 with three stolen bases. He is expected to miss the next four to six weeks. Prior to Wednesday's game, Reds manager Bob Boone subbed Juan Castro for Freel at second base. Freel was in the lineup as the leadoff hitter before he aggravated his hamstring in pregame warmups. The club is expected to recall infielder Ray Olmedo from Double-A Chattanooga on Friday.
