=== Chicago Cubs Team Report - May 29 === (My Sportsbook) - The Chicago Cubs salvaged the series finale against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Wrigley Field yesterday, 5-4. The Cubs are idle today, but will resume play Friday when they host the Houston Astros in a three-game set. Last night, Damian Miller hit a three-run homer and Alex Gonzalez added a two- run shot for the Cubs. Hee Seop Choi, Troy O'Leary and Mark Bellhorn each went 1-for-3 with a run scored for Chicago, which has won three of its last five. Mark Prior (6-2) rebounded nicely from his worst start of the season, giving up four runs on eight hits for the win. Prior went 7 2/3 innings, struck out eight and did not walk a batter in running his record against Pittsburgh to 3-0. When the Cubs resume play, Shawn Estes will head to the mound. The 30-year-old lefthander is 4-0 in his last five outings. In his last start, Estes allowed two runs on seven hits in six innings against the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park. Estes is 5-3 in 12 career starts against Houston and has an ERA of 3.27 in those outings. Sammy Sosa will be back on the field for the first time since he had the nail removed from his big toe due to an infection. The Cubs star outfielder has missed 16 games. The Cubs are just 9-7 in those 16 games.
