St. Louis, MO (My Sportsbook) - Houston Astros right fielder Richard Hidalgo was placed on the 15-day disabled list prior to Thursday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals. The move was made retroactive to May 23, when Hidalgo was scratched from the starting lineup and taken to the hospital with tonsillitis and a high fever. Hidalgo, who spent three nights in the hospital, has been diagnosed with a "mono-like virus. Tests for mononucleosis came back negative. Before getting sick, Hidalgo was hitting .299 with seven home runs 25 RBI. To take his place on the roster, the Astros have purchased the contract of outfielder Colin Porter from Triple-A New Orleans.
