East Rutherford, NJ (My Sportsbook) - New Jersey Devils center Joe Nieuwendyk missed his team's victory in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals against Anaheim as he continues to recover from a hip injury. The Devils won the contest, 3-0, to grab a two games to none lead in the best- of-seven matchup. Nieuwendyk was hurt late in overtime in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals against Ottawa and tried to play Game 7 of that series, but left after taking just three shifts. He was scratched from Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals on Tuesday, a 3-0 Devils victory. The 36-year-old Nieuwendyk has three goals and nine points in 17 games this playoff season. The Devils were also without winger Turner Stevenson, who is battling a groin injury.
