=== Baltimore Orioles Team Report - May 30 === (My Sportsbook) - The Baltimore Orioles saw their four-game winning streak come to an end last night as they fell to the Texas Rangers, 8-4, in the opener of a four- game set at Camden Yards. Luis Matos went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in the setback for the Orioles. Pat Hentgen (1-2) was saddled with the loss, surrendering six runs in 4 1/3 innings of work. He yielded six hits, five walks and struck out three in the setback. Omar Daal will head to the mound for the Orioles on Friday. The lefthander is just 1-2 in his last four starts, but recorded a victory in his last trip to the hill. Daal defeated John Thomson and the Rangers on Saturday, permitting three runs on eight hits in six frames, while walking none and striking out a season-high eight. Daal has made three career appearances -- two starts -- against Texas, going 1-0 with a 4.80 ERA. Melvin Mora is on an 11-game hitting streak and in that time span has boosted his batting average from .279 to .356. |
