=== Oakland Athletics Team Report - May 30 === (My Sportsbook) - The Oakland Athletics halted a two-game losing streak on Thursday with a 6-1 victory over the Kansas City Royals in the opener of a four-game set at Kauffman Stadium. With the win, the A's recorded their first win on their current 12-game road trip and are now 1-2 during the stretch. Last night, Mark Mulder tossed seven strong innings for the win and Eric Byrnes and Miguel Tejada each went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored for Oakland. Mulder (8-2) yielded just one run on eight hits, walked one and struck out two. Jim Mecir and Keith Foulke each worked a scoreless inning of relief for the Athletics. Ted Lilly gets the call tonight for the A's and is 3-3 on the year with a 4.10 ERA. The 27-year-old lefthander has dropped three of his last four decisions and is coming off a loss in his last start against the Royals on Saturday. In that contest Lilly allowed three runs on three hits over 6 1/3 innings, while fanning seven and walking three. Tonight will be his second-ever appearance against Kansas City. The Athletics pitching staff leads the American League with a 3.15 ERA and have allowed the fewest hits (377) and earned runs (162) in the league.
