=== Seattle Mariners Team Report - May 30 === (My Sportsbook) - The Seattle Mariners defeated the Minnesota Twins, 10-6, in the opener of a four-game set at the Metrodome on Thursday. The Mariners are winners of three straight and 10 of their last 13. Last night, Bret Boone homered and drove in four runs and finished with three hits, while Edgar Martinez added a trio of hits and two RBI for the Mariners. Boone, who is riding a five-game hitting streak, has fueled the Mariners' recent run and has seven home runs and 20 RBI over his last 12 games. Boone and Martinez's combined 86 RBI are second in the league only to Toronto's tandem of Carlos Delgado and Vernon Wells (101). Gil Meche (7-2) picked up the win, despite allowing four runs and six hits in seven innings. He walked one and struck out four. Seattle will pin its hopes tonight on 24-year-old righthander Joel Pineiro, who will be looking to bounce back from his worst start of the year in his last outing against the Twins on Saturday. Pineiro, 4-4 with a 4.41 ERA this season, allowed six runs on 12 hits - both season-highs - in a season-low five innings, as his team suffered a 7-2 setback. Pineiro is 0-2 lifetime against the Twins with a 4.95 ERA in four starts.
