=== Minnesota Twins Team Report - June 1 === (My Sportsbook) - The Minnesota Twins look to snap their three-game losing streak and avoid the series sweep to the Seattle Mariners in the finale of a set at the Metrodome this afternoon. After starting the season off with a 12-14 record through April, the Twins have battled into first place in the AL Central after posting a 19-9 record in the month of May. Minnesota is 3 1/2 games ahead of the second place Chicago White Sox. The Twins, who are losers of three straight after winning four in a row will send 38-year-old Kenny Rogers to the mound today. Rogers pitched well against Oakland on Tuesday at the Metrodome, but did not record the decision. In that contest, the lefthander allowed only two runs on six hits in seven innings. Rogers has not recorded a decision since May 4th when he defeated the Red Sox at Fenway Park. The lefthander has a losing record of 7-8 against the Mariners in 19 career starts. Rogers has compiled a 4.08 ERA in those outings. Yesterday, Dustan Mohr homered and knocked in two runs for the Twins. Mohr finished the month batting .396 and extended his hitting streak to 12 games, which is a career-high. Doug Mientkiewicz also posted two hits in the losing effort. Rick Reed (3-6) was saddled with the loss after he permitted five runs while scattering nine hits in seven frames of work. Reed struck out four and walked one. Jacque Jones has had a successful offensive year thus far for the Twins as his .330 batting average places him seventh in the American League. Minnesota took two of three from the AL West-leading Mariners last weekend and is 7-8 against Seattle in the last 15 matchups.
