Cleveland, OH (My Sportsbook) - The Cleveland Cavaliers have offered their coaching position to Paul Silas, according to a published report. ESPN.com reported that league sources have told them that Silas will accept the job, possibly as soon as Monday. Silas, who also interviewed with the Houston Rockets, was fired by the New Orleans Hornets on May 4 just two days after the team was eliminated from the playoffs with a Game 6 loss at home to Philadelphia. In five seasons Silas became the Hornets' franchise career victory leader, leading the Hornets to a 208-155 record. Although the team made it to the Eastern Conference semifinals three times during his tenure, they never succeeded in taking the next step. Silas would become high school phenom and projected No. 1 draft pick LeBron James' first pro coach.
