=== New York Mets Team Report - June 2 === (My Sportsbook) - Things haven't panned out for the Mets this year, but they aren't letting that bother them in recent weeks. New York has won four of its last six contests over its two major rivals (Atlanta and Philadelphia). The Mets finished up their three-game set against Atlanta over the weekend with back-to-back victories. New York registered a 10-4 win over the Braves on Sunday. The Mets are now just four games under .500 (26-30). Jeromy Burnitz led the offensive attack for the Mets, going 3-for-5 with a three-run homer. Burnitz has hit safely in nine straight games since coming off the disabled list. During the stretch, Burnitz has tallied four homers and 13 RBI. Vance Wilson added three hits, while Jason Phillips and Rey Sanchez have posted two hits apiece. Phillips and Ty Wigginton each registered two RBI in the contest. New York will take to the field for a three-game set against the Milwaukee Brewers starting on Tuesday night. It will be the only National League series from Tuesday to Thursday, as interleague action will be in full swing. Heading to the hill in the series opener will be recently recalled lefthander Mike Bacsik. After posting a 27.00 ERA in three innings of work with the Mets during the first week of the season, Bacsik was sent down to Triple-A Norfolk. Bacsik struggled with the Tides, going 0-5 with a 6.00 ERA in nine starts. Bacsik is replacing Pedro Astacio in the rotation. Astacio has a torn labrum in his right shoulder that could force him to have surgery. Bacsik will be facing the Brewers for the first time in his career.
