Chicago White Sox Team Report - June 3 ===
(My Sportsbook) - Esteban Loaiza hopes to become the majors' first nine-game winner on Tuesday when the Chicago White Sox begin a three-game interleague series with the Arizona Diamondbacks at Bank One Ballpark.
Loaiza, who owns the best ERA in baseball at 1.96, is one of five hurlers in the majors with eight victories. Seattle's Jamie Moyer also has a chance at claiming win No. 9 on Tuesday.
Loaiza won for the first time in three starts in his last outing, topping Toronto on Thursday. He permitted two runs on five hits in 7 2/3 innings, while walking two and striking out four.
For his career, Loaiza is 0-1 with a 7.20 ERA in three appearances -- two starts -- against Arizona.
The White Sox were swept in three games by the Cleveland Indians in their most recent series. On Monday in the finale, Jody Gerut homered and Milton Bradley drove in two runs and scored another as the Indians downed the White Sox, 5-2.
D'Angelo Jimenez finished 2-for-3 with a home run for Chicago, which fell to 2-5 on its 13-game road trip.
Bartolo Colon (5-5) lost his second straight outing as he surrendered four runs on seven hits in six innings of work, with six strikeouts and a walk.
However, Colon fanned Ellis Burks in the first inning to record his 1,000th career strikeout.
Chicago, which owns a 56-47 all-time record in interleague play, will face the Diamondbacks for the first time ever Tuesday.
Magglio Ordonez is 0-for-13 since seeing his 14-game hitting streak come to an end.
