=== Oakland Athletics Team Report - June 11 === (My Sportsbook) - The Oakland Athletics continue their three-game series against the Atlanta Braves tonight at the Coliseum. Last night, Jermaine Dye homered in the bottom of the 12th inning to lift Oakland to a 4-3 victory. Oakland, which snapped a two-game slide to start its 12-game homestand, moved within seven games of first-place Seattle in the Al West. This was the first meeting between the franchises since the 1914 World Series, a four-game sweep by the Boston Braves against the Philadelphia A's. Both clubs have moved twice since then, as the Athletics relocated from Philadelphia to Kansas City to Oakland and the Braves went from Boston to Milwaukee to Atlanta. Pitching tonight for the A's will be Ted Lilly, who is 0-2 over his last four starts. The lefthander is coming off a loss on Thursday against the Marlins when he allowed six hits and two runs -- one earned -- in seven innings. Lilly, who has just one win in his last seven starts (1-4), is 0-1 in two career starts against the Braves. Both of those starts came in 1999 when he pitched for Montreal. The A's are a major league-best 69-42 in interleague play. Oakland's Eric Chavez, who homered last night, has an eight-game hitting streak.
