The Twins, who are five games ahead of Kansas City in their division, will try for their fourth straight victory. Mays is 4-0 over his last five outings, but is coming off a no-decision on Sunday at San Diego when the righthander allowed eight hits and two runs over six innings. In his most recent outing, last Sunday against San Diego, Mays allowed eight hits and two runs over six innings. The Twins are 7-2 in his last nine outings. Mays is 4-6 in 16 career interleague games. He's pitched more than seven innings in only two of his 13 starts this season. Last night, Torii Hunter broke a sixth inning tie with a two-run single to lead the Twins to a 3-1 win. Johan Santana tossed seven solid innings for the win and has captured all three of his starts this year. LaTroy Hawkins worked a scoreless eighth and Eddie Guardado pitched a hitless ninth to record his 19th save of the season. Cristian Guzman had two hits and scored a run for the Twins, who won despite stroking just six hits in the contest. The Twins are 7-3 after 10 interleague games this season.
