Milwaukee Brewers Team Report - June 15 ===
(My Sportsbook) - The Milwaukee Brewers and the Baltimore Orioles will meet in the rubber match of a three-game series at Camden Yards this afternoon.
The Brewers, who won for just the second time in their last seven games last night, will send 24-year-old Ben Sheets to the mound today. In his last outing, on Tuesday, Sheets was defeated by the Florida Marlins at Miller Park. In that game, Sheets allowed five runs -- two earned -- on seven hits in seven innings.
Sheets has pitched well away from home this season posting a road record of 5-1, with that one loss coming way back on April 10th against the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park. Since then he's won five straight road starts. This will be the first career appearance for Sheets against the Orioles.
Last night, Scott Podsednik went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI, as the Brewers downed the Orioles, 8-3.
Ruben Quevedo recorded his first victory in nearly a year for Milwaukee, which bounced back from a 7-2 defeat in the series-opener. Geoff Jenkins finished with three hits, two runs batted in and a run scored, while Richie Sexson homered in the victory.
Sexson was struck by a pitch from Baltimore's Jason Johnson in the third inning and had to be restrained by Baltimore catcher Brook Fordyce.
Quevedo (1-2) tossed seven innings and allowed two runs on seven hits with two strikeouts and two walks. His last win came on July 24, 2002 when he defeated the Houston Astros 12-8.
Eric Young is one hit shy of 1,500 for his career. Sexson leads the Brewers in runs, hits, home runs, walks, and strikeouts.
The Brewers are 15-16 on the road this season.
