Green Bay, WI (My Sportsbook) - The Green Bay Packers claimed placekicker Owen Pochman off waivers from the New York Giants on Monday. Pochman went into last year's training camp as the Giants' No. 1 kicker, but was hampered by a knee injury that eventually needed surgery, ending his season. Matt Bryant filled in ably by scoring 108 points, making Pochman expendable. The left-footed Pochman was used as a kickoff and long field goal specialist in 2001. Originally drafted in the seventh round of the 2001 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots, the 6-foot, 180-pound Pochman set the Brigham Young University record for career points with 333.
