Chicago, IL (My Sportsbook) - The Chicago White Sox and first-round pick Brian Anderson agreed to terms on a contract Tuesday. Pending the outcome of a physical examination, Anderson is slated to report to Advanced Rookie Great Falls on Friday. The 21-year-old center fielder hit .366 with 14 home runs and 62 RBI in 57 games during his junior season at Arizona. He collected 12 doubles, three triples and scored 58 runs with 17 stolen bases while leading his team to a 35-23 record and a berth in the NCAA Regionals. He posted a .425 on-base percentage and .668 slugging percentage. "It was the consensus of the organization that Brian possesses all the tools to become a successful major-league player, so we are very excited to have him signed and on board," said Doug Laumann, White Sox director of scouting. "It's always beneficial for the player and the organization to come to terms as quickly as possible, and we hope that by doing this Brian's development will be on schedule." Anderson batted .342 with 23 homers and 130 RBI with 31 stolen bases in three seasons at Arizona.
