Houston, TX (My Sportsbook) - Houston Astros pitcher Roy Oswalt was placed on the 15-day disabled list for the second time this year with a groin injury. The move is retroactive to June 12. Oswalt aggravated his groin last Wednesday against the New York Yankees. He left that contest in the second inning and the Houston bullpen went on to complete the first six-pitcher no-hitter in baseball history in an 8-0 victory. The 25-year-old Oswalt, who spent 15 days on the disabled list in May because of the problem, left the game in the second inning while pitching to Jorge Posada. The righthander worked one perfect inning with two strikeouts before exiting in just his third start back from the DL. Oswalt first strained his groin while running the bases in a May 15 game against Pittsburgh, as he slipped on second base after hitting a double. He was activated off the disabled list on May 31 and had thrown seven innings in each of his first two starts after coming off the DL, allowing just one run on 13 hits. In 12 starts this season, Oswalt is 4-4 with a 3.05 earned run average. He is eligible to come off the disabled list on June 27. The Astros called up Rodrigo Rosario from Triple-A New Orleans to take Oswalt's spot on the active roster.
