Philadelphia, PA (My Sportsbook) - Philadelphia forward Monty Williams suffered a torn left medial meniscus during the 76ers' preseason game at Houston on Thursday. Williams left the game in the fourth quarter with the injury and underwent an MRI exam Friday in San Antonio, where the Sixers will be playing the Spurs. The 6-8 Williams is returning to Philadelphia and will have arthroscopic knee surgery performed by team physician Dr. Jack McPhilemy. Williams averaged 8.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game in three preseason contests. He missed the first four exhibition games after being diagnosed with a small labral tear in his left shoulder, an injury sustained on October 5 in training camp. Williams was signed as free agent by the Sixers on July 25, 2002. Meanwhile, center Samuel Dalembert underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on his left knee and is expected to be sidelined at least 12 weeks. The 6-10 Dalembert played four games this preseason and averaged 8.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per outing.
