Boston, MA (My Sportsbook) - Boston Red Sox reliever Bobby Howry will undergo surgery to repair the ulnar nerve in his right shoulder, forcing him to miss the remainder of the season. Howry was acquired from the Chicago White Sox on July 31 of last season. He was 1-3 with a 5.00 ERA late last season. He appeared in only four games this season for Boston before being sent to Pawtucket, the team's Triple-A club. In his four appearances this season with the Red Sox, Howry gave up at least one run during each outing. He also blew his only save opportunity. Howry was 1-0 with a 1.06 ERA in 13 games with Pawtucket before suffering the injury. The 29-year-old Howry had his best year in 1999 when he posted 28 saves for the Chicago White Sox.
