(My Sportsbook) - The Golden State Warriors have built a strong, young nucleus thanks to years of losing and lottery picks. A 1998 draft-day trade brought Antawn Jamison to California, and over the past three years the Warriors have drafted Jason Richardson, Troy Murphy, Mike Dunleavy and Jiri Welsch. However, the Warriors might have to face life without one of their brightest young prospects -- point guard Gilbert Arenas. The 21-year-old Arenas, who averaged 18.3 points and 6.3 assists per game last season, is one of the most attractive free agents on the market. Golden State will likely lose out to a team with ample cap space when it comes down to inking Arenas to a new deal. The expected departure of Arenas will certainly leave a major hole in the backcourt. With the 11th pick, the Warriors could fill the void with the addition of Kirk Hinrich (Kansas) or Luke Ridnour (Oregon). The 6-foot-3 Hinrich has great court vision and plays sound basketball on both ends. He's an excellent shooter with an unselfish mentality. Ridnour is more of a natural point guard with the competitiveness and knowledge of a veteran. The Oregon product has a strong all-around game and set a school record with 218 assists in a season, while also tying a school mark with 63 steals.
