St. Louis, MO (My Sportsbook) - The St. Louis Blues, already beset with a slew of injuries to goaltenders, will be without Curtis Sanford for two to three weeks due to a strained Achilles' tendon in his left foot. Sanford was hurt in the second period of Thursday night's game at Edmonton. The Blues will be forced to go to Cody Rudkowsky, their No. 5 goalie, for Saturday's game at Calgary. Despite the injuries, the Blues have started the season with a 4-1-1 record. Brent Johnson hurt his ankle in the preseason and Fred Brathwaite moved into the starting slot. Brathwaite started the first two games, but injured his groin and Reinhard Divis came in as the replacement for the third game of the season. However, Divis was injured in his second contest, forcing Sanford into duty. Sanford started Thursday night's game before being replaced by Rudkowsky, who stopped all 10 shots to record his first NHL win. Because of the injuries, the Blues reached a tentative contract agreement with Tom Barrasso. The 37-year-old Barrasso started his career with the Buffalo Sabres and won the Calder Trophy as rookie of the year and the Vezina Trophy as top goalie in 1984. The 18-year pro was traded to Pittsburgh in 1988 and won the Stanley Cup with the Penguins in 1991 and 1992.
