St. Petersburg, FL (My Sportsbook) - The Tampa Bay Devil Rays could be without shortstop Rey Ordonez for the remainder of the season. Ordonez has a torn ligament in his left knee. Ordonez had tests taken on Friday, revealing the magnitude of the injury. He has been on the disabled list since May 9. No surgery date has been scheduled. The 32-year-old Ordonez finished 1-for-3 in Monday's Hall of Fame game in Cooperstown, NY. It was his first action since going on the DL. Tampa Bay had planned to activate him shortly after the exhibition, but Ordonez experienced swelling in the knee on Tuesday. According to manager Lou Piniella, Ordonez is expected to be sidelined for the remainder of the 2003 campaign. In 34 games this season Ordonez is hitting .316 with 22 RBI. Ordonez spent his first seven years in the majors with the New York Mets, who traded him to the Devil Rays in December.
