Colorado Rockies Team Report - June 25 ===
(My Sportsbook) - The Colorado Rockies try for a three-game sweep of the San Diego Padres as the teams conclude their series at Qualcomm Stadium Wednesday.
A victory tonight would be the fifth in a row for the Rockies, equaling a season-high. Colorado also won five straight May 25-29.
Last night, Darren Oliver tossed five no-hit innings and Larry Walker hit a two-run homer, leading Colorado to a 5-2 win. Oliver (5-5) allowed one run and four hits in six-plus innings to earn the victory.
The Rockies have won six of seven to move three games over .500 for the first time since April 30. They were four games over .500 (15-11) on April 29.
Jose Jimenez earned his 18th save despite loading the bases in the ninth.
Scott Elarton will pitch tonight for the Rockies, as he makes his second road start of the season. The righthander lost a 9-7 decision in his only road assignment on June 14 at Comerica Park, surrendering eight hits and six runs in five innings to the Tigers.
Elarton has lost his last two outings, both coming against Detroit. He has struggled of late, allowing six runs in each of his last three starts all in just five innings of work for a 10.80 ERA.
Elarton is 0-3 lifetime against San Diego and holds a gaudy 12.46 ERA (18 earned runs, 13 innings) against the Padres.
The Rockies are 12-25 on the road, but they've won six of their last nine outside Coors Field.
Colorado first baseman Todd Helton has a 10-game hitting streak, going 18- for-38 in that span. Helton is also one homer shy of 200 for his career.
