Phoenix, AZ (My Sportsbook) - Houston Astros infielder Jose Vizcaino will undergo surgery to insert a metal plate in his broken left wrist. Vizcaino is expected to remain sidelined for at least eight weeks. The injury occurred when he was hit by a pitch from Arizona's Stephen Randolph in Tuesday night's game at Bank One Ballpark. The surgery is slated for Friday at Methodist Hospital in Houston. Vizcaino was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Wednesday. A usually steady utility player, Vizcaino is batting just .245 with two homers and 19 RBI in 61 games this season. His injury comes at a bad time for the Astros, who are without the services of everyday second baseman Jeff Kent. The 35-year-old Kent has missed the last seven games with tendinitis in his left wrist.
