St. Petersburg, FL (My Sportsbook) - The Atlanta Braves activated relief pitcher Roberto Hernandez from the 15-day disabled list Friday. He pitched in the Braves' 8-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Devil Rays at Tropicana Field. In his first major league game since June 11, Hernandez tossed one scoreless inning and gave up just one hit. Hernandez, who was placed on the DL on June 13, had been suffering from a strained right abdominal muscle. The 38-year-old righthander is a key member of the Braves' bullpen and was 5-2 with a 4.70 ERA this season prior to his injury. To make room on the roster, the Braves optioned righty Jason Marquis to Triple-A Richmond. Marquis, who held a regular spot in the Braves' starting rotation in 2002, began the season with the Braves but was sent down in April. Marquis owned a lofty 5.71 ERA in six games -- two starts -- in the stint with Atlanta.
