=== Oakland Athletics Team Report - July 3 === (My Sportsbook) - Barry Zito hopes to capture his first win in nearly a month on Thursday when the Oakland Athletics square off with the Seattle Mariners in the finale of their four-game series at the Coliseum. Zito has gone 0-1 over his past four starts and has just one victory in his last eight outings (1-2), which came on June 6 against Philadelphia. Most recently, Zito failed to earn a decision against San Francisco Saturday. He surrendered six runs on 10 hits in six innings, while walking two and striking out three. Zito faced Seattle in his first start of the season and recorded the win. He is 5-1 with a 3.42 ERA in eight career starts versus the Mariners. On Wednesday, Edgar Martinez went 3-for-6 with a two-run homer and three runs scored, leading the Mariners to a 13-0 rout of the A's. The Mariners tied a season high with 20 hits and have won two of the first three in this set. The Athletics finished with just three hits and lost for the sixth time in their last nine. Ted Lilly (5-7) lost his second straight start and fell to 0-4 lifetime against Seattle. He gave up five runs on 10 hits in 4 2/3 innings. The lefthander walked three and struck out nine.
