Salt Lake City, UT (My Sportsbook) - The Utah Jazz, reeling from the loss of longtime franchise cornerstones John Stockton and Karl Malone, have announced that Los Angeles Clippers swingman Corey Maggette signed an offer sheet with the team on Wednesday. The Clippers, already saddled with the prospect of matching a potential offer from the Miami Heat for restricted free agent forward Elton Brand, would have 15 days to equal Utah's offer for Maggette, also a restricted free agent. The Jazz offer is for six years and an undisclosed amount of money. Last season, the 6-foot-6 Maggette averaged 16.8 points and 5.0 rebounds over 64 games with the Clippers -- including 57 starts. He began his career with Orlando in 1999-2000 before joining Los Angeles for the next season. Over 273 career games, Maggette has averaged 11.5 points and 4.2 rebounds. Stockton retired after last season, while Malone signed with the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday. The guard-forward tandem had played together in Utah since the 1985-86 campaign, Stockton's second in the league.
