New York, NY (My Sportsbook) - Pitcher Carlos Silva of the Philadelphia Phillies had his suspension reduced from six games to five for his part in a June 13 bench-clearing brawl with the Cincinnati Reds. He will begin serving the suspension Thursday against the Montreal Expos. Silva was suspended for six games for intentionally throwing at Adam Dunn, which incited the fracas. Dunn and teammate Sean Casey received three-game suspensions -- already served -- for their parts in the altercation. Phillies manager Larry Bowa was suspended for one game -- also served several weeks back -- for the intentional actions of Silva after a warning had been given. In addition, pitcher Jose Mesa and catcher Todd Pratt of the Phillies were each fined an undisclosed amount for their aggressive actions during the incident. Silva is eligible to return for the Phillies' game on Tuesday against the New York Mets.
