Sundsvall, Sweden (My Sportsbook) - Sweden suffered a blow to its Women's World Cup hopes on Monday, learning that forward Josefine Oqvist will not be making the trip in September to China. The 23-year-old will be left off the roster due to torn anterior cruciate ligaments in her knee. She suffered the injury while playing in club play with Linkoping, and after the latest set of tests, it was revealed on Monday that Oqvist will not be able to return until the end of the year. "I didn't imagine it would be this bad," said Sweden coach Thomas Dennerby. "There is no natural replacement for Oqvist. She is unique and has been one of our best in the national team this spring." Sweden begins World Cup play on September 11, against Nigeria.
