=== Three-way deal sends Brad Miller to Kings ===
Indianapolis, IN (My Sportsbook) - In the second blockbuster deal in as many days, the Indiana Pacers, Sacramento Kings and San Antonio Spurs executed a three-team trade involving center Brad Miller, guard Ron Mercer, center Scot Pollard, forward Hedo Turkoglu and forward Danny Ferry.
The sign-and-trade deal sent Miller to the Kings for Pollard and Turkoglu. The Pacers then shipped Mercer and Turkoglu to San Antonio for Ferry. Indiana is expected to release Ferry rather than picking up the option on his contract for the upcoming season.
By accepting a sign-and-trade agreement, Miller picked up an additional year on his contract, making it a seven-year deal reportedly worth up to $70 million.
Miller had received serious interest from Utah and Denver, with both the Jazz and Nuggets offering reported six-year contracts.
Last season for Indiana, the 27-year-old Miller averaged 13.1 points and 8.3 rebounds over 73 games en route to his first All-Star Game appearance. He has also had stints with the Charlotte Hornets and Chicago Bulls and has career averages of 10.5 points and 6.9 boards in 299 contests.
The 28-year-old Pollard missed 59 games last season with a stress fracture in his lower back. In the 23 contests he played for Sacramento, Pollard averaged 4.5 points and 4.6 rebounds per outing.
Turkoglu, 24, participated in 67 games last season for the Kings, including 11 starts, and averaged 6.7 points and 2.8 boards per contest.
Mercer, 27, just completed his sixth NBA campaign. He played in 72 games for the Pacers in 2002-03 and posted averages of 7.7 points and 2.1 rebounds per outing. Mercer has also spent time with Boston, Denver, Orlando and Chicago.
The 36-year-old Ferry is a 13-year NBA veteran, spending 10 seasons with Cleveland and three with San Antonio. During the 2002-03 campaign with the Spurs, he appeared in 64 contests and averaged 1.9 points per game.
