=== New York Mets Team Report - July 25 === (My Sportsbook) - New York lefthander Al Leiter tries to win for the first time in more than a month, as he takes the mound tonight in the opener of a three-game series against the Cincinnati Reds at Shea Stadium. Leiter, who missed three weeks with inflammation in his right knee, is 0-2 over his last three outings. He's pitched once since being activated off the disabled list, and that came in a no-decision on Sunday against Atlanta. Leiter, who has walked at least four batters in four straight starts, holds a 6-7 lifetime mark versus the Reds. The Mets, who have lost two in a row and 12 of 15 overall, return to Shea Stadium following a 2-6 road trip. New York opens a 10-game homestand tonight. Last night, New York lost 5-1 in Montreal. Tom Glavine suffered the defeat and fell to 6-11 on the season. Mets rookie Jason Phillips has hit in 12 consecutive contests. The Mets swept a three-game set in Cincinnati July 4-6 in the only other series between the clubs this season.
