A victory would give Trachsel double-digit wins for the third straight season. He is coming off a win Tuesday at Philadelphia, when he threw 5 1/3 frames. The righthander is 4-1 over his last six outings. However, he has struggled at home this season, as evidenced by his 2-5 mark and 5.98 ERA at Shea Stadium. Trachsel faced the Reds earlier this month on July 5th at Great American Ball Park and picked up the win in the Mets' 6-2, victory. For his career, he is 8-3 with a 2.37 ERA in 16 career appearances against the Reds. The Mets lost 8-3 last night. Cliff Floyd homered and drove in two and Jason Phillips scored once and was the only Met to record a multi-hit game, as New York lost for the third time in four games and for the 13th time in its last 17 contests. Phillips has a 14-game hitting streak. Rookie righthander Aaron Heilman took the loss for the Mets after he was roughed up for six runs on eight hits and two walks. The Mets are 4-1 versus the Reds this season. The Mets, who will play the third contest of a 10-game homestand, are 21-29 at Shea Stadium this year. |
