The Cardinals lost 4-0 last night. Albert Pujols went 2-for-4 for the Cardinals, who remain two games behind first-place Houston in the National League Central. Pujols extended his career-best hitting streak to 19 games, the longest by a Cardinal since Placido Polanco had a 20-gamer in 2001. Rookie Dan Haren takes the mound for St. Louis tonight. Since starting the year with a pair of losses to San Francisco, the righthander is 2-0 over his last four starts. In his most recent outing, Haren blanked Montreal through seven innings in a victory last Wednesday. This will be his first career appearance against Florida. St. Louis is 31-23 at home. |
