=== Milwaukee Brewers Team Report - August 10 === (My Sportsbook) - The Milwaukee Brewers hope to avoid a sweep this afternoon as their three-game series with the Florida Marlins draws to a close at Miller Park. The Brewers, who are mired in last place in the NL Central, have dropped four straight following Saturday's 7-1 setback. Mark Smith had two hits and a run scored for Milwaukee in the loss. David Manning (0-2) got roughed up during his second career start, allowing six runs and seven hits in 2 2/3 innings. A loss today by the Brewers would be their first-ever three-game sweep at the hands of the Marlins in Milwaukee and its first three-game sweep by Florida since April 22-24 of this season.. The Brewers will pin their hopes on righthander Matt Kinney, who is 7-8 on the campaign with a 5.06 ERA. The 26-year-old native of Bangor, ME is coming off a no-decision against the Atlanta Braves in his last start, as he gave up three runs and six hits in six frames. Kinney has just one win over his last seven starts. Kinney has faced Florida twice this season, beating it in his most recent appearance back on June 12. In that contest Kinney surrendered three runs and seven hits over six innings to post the victory. He is 2-0 in his career against the Marlins with a 3.86 ERA in three games, two starts. The Brewers have lost seven of the eight meetings this season and are 5-15 against the Marlins since the start of the 2001 season.
