=== Reds' Kearns to undergo season-ending surgery === Cincinnati, OH (My Sportsbook) - Cincinnati Reds outfielder Austin Kearns is expected to undergo season-ending shoulder surgery on Thursday. Kearns will have an arthroscopic procedure performed by Reds medical director Dr. Timothy Kremchek in order to evaluate the injury to the rotator cuff in his right shoulder. The 23-year-old Kearns has been bothered by the shoulder since May 21, when he collided with Atlanta's Ray King on a play at the plate. He was placed on the disabled list retroactive to July 9. Earlier this year during spring training, Kearns had surgery to remove bone chips from his left elbow. In 82 games this season for Cincinnati, Kearns batted .264 with 15 homers and 58 RBI. |
