Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Nurminen, who was a restricted free agent, played in 52 games last season and finished 21-19-5 with two shutouts and a 2.88 goals-against average. "Pasi provided us with a steady presence in net last season, and we look for him to continue to be a key contributor for us in the future," said vice president and general manager Don Waddell. "He will strengthen our group of goaltenders and help us be more successful." The 27-year-old Nurminen was selected by Atlanta in the sixth round (189th overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. |
