St. Louis, MO (My Sportsbook) - The St. Louis Blues signed forward Martin Rucinsky on Wednesday. The 31-year-old Rucinsky played in a combined 75 games last season for the New York Rangers, Dallas Stars and Montreal Canadiens. He recorded 11 goals and 27 assists for 38 points. The 6-1, 205-pound left wing has appeared in 674 career NHL games, compiling 433 points (178 goals, 255 assists) and 567 penalty minutes. The Blues also announced that defenseman Robin Jonsson, a fourth-round draft pick from June of this year, has been diagnosed with cancer. Jonsson suffered an elbow injury a few weeks ago while playing for Bofors of the Swedish Elite League and during a medical exam doctors discovered a tumor. Jonsson, who turns 19 on December 10, is expected to undergo chemotherapy. Jonsson hopes he can overcome the odds to eventually play in the NHL, just as Mario Lemieux and Saku Koivu did. "Both are proof that you can get back to playing hockey," Jonsson said.
