The Padres lost 6-3 last night. San Diego reliever Jay Witasick (3-3) took the loss. Gary Bennett belted a two-run homer for the Padres, who have lost four straight and have been outscored 30-8 in that span. Lou Merloni added an RBI triple in the loss. Adam Eaton will toe the rubber for the Padres today, as he tries to win his second straight start. He beat Atlanta on Tuesday, allowing six hits and four runs in five innings. The righthander is going through probably the best stretch of his career. He is 5-1 over his last eight starts. Eaton won his only career start against Florida, throwing eight shutout innings. San Diego is 23-41 on the road. |
